Film review: The Lobster

February 28, 2017

One of the odder films of recent times, Yorgos Lanthimos' The Lobster is dystopian and slightly surreal story of a society where single people have a limited time to find a partner or be transformed into an animal of their choice.  It received an Academy Award nomination for best original screenplay and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.  Was it too weird for the Weirdsphere?  There's just no way of knowing...

Comic review: The Vision

February 21, 2017

This week we turn our attentions to a comic series released by Marvel about one of our least favourite characters, the Vision.  A 12 issue limited series by writer Tom King and artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta, one of our podcasters drew a comparison between it and the Watchmen.  Whaaaat?  Is that justified?  Did the rest of these clowns like it that much too?

Favourite spaceships

February 7, 2017

One of our crew likes spaceships.  A lot.  To pacify her, we have spent this entire episode discussing our favourite spaceships from fiction, and perhaps one or two from reality.  Reality?  What's that?
