Nearly 20 years after writing the highly influential novella The Hellbound Heart, which became famous through the film adaptation Hellraiser, Cliver Barker finally writes a sequel novel. As one of the more eagerly awaited horror novels for some years, does The Scarlet Gospels live up to our high expectations or was it more on a par with one of the dodgy film sequels like Hellraiser 73: Acupuncturists vs Pinhead.
